Wine Not! Wednesday Featuring Megalomaniac Homegrown Riesling
Happy Hump Day! We meet again friends! the weekend is near and I have another amazing Wine to share with you that I won at a baby shower last weekend. Go figure that the mystery gift was a bottle of wine, 2 stemless glasses and 3 tickets to visit wineries. You cannot imagine how excited I am to drag my hubby out with me, to discover more beautiful bottles of wine. Anyway today it’s Wine Not! Wednesday Featuring Megalomaniac Homegrown Riesling a White Wine with a lot of character, I mean alot! now that the weather continues to get warmer. My palate for wines is also changing too. I have really been focusing on wines that have a lighter body, more on the fresh side in terms of tasting and one that pairs well with lighter foods that we consume during the summer months.
meg·a·lo·ma·ni·ac/noun: overestimation of one’s physical and mental prowess, of one’s power; madness; delusions of grandeur.
Megalomaniac Homegrown Riesling is a clear straw colour with a noticeable floral peach aroma that you can’t miss. You can also smell a slight aroma of citrus from the Lemon which gives it that fresh airy feeling after your first sip. Since lemon does hold acidity the balance and sweetness of honey is added to the Megalomaniac Homegrown Riesling Megalomaniac Homegrown Riesling for a cleaner taste and finish. What I love most about the wine is that it pairs perfectly with summer dishes that I eat frequently such as tacos, beet soup which tastes amazing cold and spicy meats like Chicken. The Megalomaniac Homegrown Riesling is a medium dry bodied wine with a long finish, which also cuts down on the amount of sweetness you savor from the honey.
Overall I really love the taste of the Megalomaniac Homegrown Riesling so much that I may or may not have taken in a small glass before the noon hour today. You can purchase Megalomaniac Homegrown Riesling at your local LCBO or wine store for about $15.
