Wine Not! Wednesday Featuring Bend In The River Riesling

Woohoo! Another Wine Not! Wednesday Featuring Bend In The River Riesling. My goal for the Wine Not! Wednesday series is to find both known and unknown wines to review for you all. On a recent trip to the LCBO, I wanted to find a wine that I had never tried or seen advertised on media. I was looking for a diamond in the ruff that was both inexpensive and taste worthy for my busy palate. Bend In the River is the newest addition to my love of white Wines. This Riesling is a blend of subtle apple flavours matched with  crisp acidity. If you are looking for a Wine that is light tasting especially with the Summer months coming this is the perfect bottle to try.

I think what drew me to the the Bend In the River Riesling is the bottle itself, the colours are gorgeous and I just have this things for straw coloured Wine as well. As for food pairings, Bend In the River pairs well with Fish, Asian style Noodles, Chicken dishes and soups. It has medium body and very distinct citrus notes such as lime zest with a lingering slightly sweet finish that serves well if its chilled. Because of its low Alcohol levels 9%  I really enjoy how refreshing this Riesling is I can tell already that I will my making a few different “mom juices” for me to enjoy while the kids play outside this summer without the fear of over drinking.

Overall this this another wine worth adding to the list of wines that I currently love. Its Happy Hours somewhere! Cheers!

I’m going to have to give this wine a shot! I prefer a little bit higher alcohol content, but it sounds delicious.
