Wine And Cheese Night On Thursday’s At Bistro 67
A couple Thursday’s ago myself and a few other bloggers in my area were invited to sample local wine and cheese for Wine And Cheese Night On Thursday’s At Bistro 67. Basically every Thursday you can enjoy a cheese board and 2 delicious glasses of wine for $25. As I was saying myself and a few other bloggers had the opportunity to sit at the Chef’s table to feast of some amazing cheeses and great wine from the Creekside Winery which I have always wanted to visit. The cheese board was amazing it came with an array of different cheeses with pickled veggies (my fave) fruits and the most incredible compotes and spreads to enjoy with our cheese as well.
We also had a side of bread(many sides) with a delicious relish that I couldn’t get enough of. After some laughs and conversations with the girls, we had then got to see first hand at what goes on behind the scenes in the kitchen to prepare all of the tasty foods that head chef Raul and his team prepares. All of the ingredients used to prepare the meals at Bisto 67 are all locally grown on the property of Durham College where Bistro 67 is located. The restaurant itself has a pretty amazing staff, the kitchen staff are culinary students presently in school, the servers and hostess are a part of the hospitality program and then we have the students in the horticulture program that harvest the food used to cook.
I think the girls will agree that one of the highlights of the night was the pot of boiling corn that we saw while touring the kitchen. Chef Raul’s Mexican Corn was to die for! I mean there are only so many ways to enjoy corn on the cob but the Mexican corn I gladly devoured was the best corn I have eaten to date. Between the chipotle aioli and the seasonings, I find myself thinking about it quite often. We also enjoyed a gluten free dessert that was both tasty and presented beautifully.
Overall it was an amazing night with amazing food. I do plan to visit again very soon. Or make use of the take out option as well.
