I am pretty desperate when It comes to getting as much sleep as possible. Let me give you a quick summary of why. A few months ago I was diagnosed with moderate to severe sleep apnea. Based on the sleep study that I had completed, I would stop breathing 21/22 times an hour for as long as 11 seconds. Can you believe that? I was completely shocked when the doctor showed me my results and explained the long-term effects that it could have on me. But that explains some of my exhaustion issues that I have been dealing with on a regular basis, among other health/mental issues such as Anxiety and Depression that also contribute to my lack of sleep. I currently sleep with a CPAP Machine which helps provide more oxygen while I sleep to allow me to get more rest at night. It has helped quite a bit, I am still getting used to having something completely covering my mouth and nose. But I am doing a lot better than I was. Now my trouble is falling asleep and staying sound because of my anxiety, with that being said, I had heard a lot about Dream Water from another blogger who swears by it. Did Dream Water Help Me Sleep Better?
Dream Water is for individuals that have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep and don’t want the negative side effects associated with Rx and over the counter sleeps aids. It’s a natural sleep aid that is formulated with GABA, Melatonin, and 5-HTP. As always when trying things like these natural or not it is very important to read directions and disclaimers to ensure it is safe for you to consume. Which is what I did, I took the dream water 35 minutes before bedtime(although it says 30) at first I expected the sleep monsters to attack me then the infamous sleep haze to kick in but it didn’t. My first thought was that it wasn’t going to work, I got into bed and lied there for a few minutes. Then suddenly felt this sense of relaxation, let me explain, bed time is stressful for me. I am usually so tired that I start to get anxious about everything under the sun coming up the next day in order to tire my brain out in hope that it will let me fall asleep. But I didn’t experience that at all when I drank the Dream Water, I was more relaxed, my mind didn’t wander through a million thoughts and I felt at ease for the first time in a long time. When I woke up I felt a sense of clarity, less fogginess like I usually do in the morning if I have forgotten to wear my CPAP mask. My stress level was also less than it usually is as well. And of course nobody buzz side effects from the sleep aids I have taken in the past that didn’t wear off in the 8 hrs of sleep.
Overall I would say that Dream water does work to a certain degree. I feel that If you are overtired to the point where you reach that “second wind” it may not be as effective as it would be if you were tired and had trouble sleeping. The effectiveness of the Dream Water will vary from person to person which is normal so it’s something to keep in mind when taking it.
