Saltine Toffee Candy

I know its been a few days since I last posted. Lately I haven’t had the energy to even think of blogging. Its cold and all I want to do is curl up in a ball and relax for the day. To get myself going I decided to share with you a recipe that is old to me but new to my family.

Toffee is one of my favourite sweet treats to eat. Whats even better is that its pretty simple to make and you can add alot of different ingredients to it to make it fun. Today I decided to whip of a batch of Saltine Toffee Candy for the kids once they get home from school and I wanted to share my recipe with you. Its honestly very simple to make the family will enjoy it and its a great way to get the kids active in the kitchen to help make it. You only need a few ingredients that you normally have on hand at all times so why not throw them together to make magic. Enjoy the recipe. I know the family will enjoy it!

Saltine Toffee

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Saltine Toffee

Ingredients

40 Saltine Crackers (1 sleeve)
1 C Butter
1 C Brown Sugar
1 1/2 C Chocolate Chips

Instructions

Preheat Oven to 405 F
Line cookie sheet with Parchment Paper
Line cookies up on the sheet
In a pan over medium heat combine butter and sugar and bring to a boil (about 5 mins) When golden brown remove from heat
Immediately pour hot liquid over crackers.
Place cookie sheet in the oven and bake for about 7 mins or until it starts to bubble
Remove from oven and sprinkle Chocolate chips, wait 1 mins until chips start to melt and gently spread until crackers are fully covered.
Place in the freezer for about 15 mins until cool and break into pieces

Notes

Store in an air tight container for up to a week.... or until they are done. Nuts and different candies are optional
