Motivation Monday| Be That Friend

Hello Friends its Monday again! Hope you had a great weekend. Mine was pretty busy of course. But its a new week and I am looking forward to starting it. Hey let me ask you a question, how would you rate yourself as a friend? This weeks motivation is all about being that friend. I keep a very close circle of friends that I can go to whenever I need them They don’t judge me, they are honest with me and they most definitely tell me when I am wrong. That is the kind of friend I strive to be. Unfortunately there are some people in the world who don’t have friends. Whether it be intentional or not we all need them.

So this week I want to Be That Friend to listen when nobody else will. Encourage them when are ready to give up and advise them justly. Laugh when nobody else will, defend them with courage and love them just as they are. I will be that friend to pick them up when they fall down and if they are too heavy to pick up and lie down with them and listen. This week I will be that friend that even though we don’t talk or see each other every day when we do it feels like it was yesterday.

As we move in to the holiday season the emphasis on friendship is important. There are many people in the world that don’t have family or friends around them. Making a conscious effort to being a friend to someone in need is one of the simplest forms of giving back.  It doesn’t cost you anything but a little bit of time. When you think of about it, Its a really rewarding feeling when a simple hello! how are you? can make someone smile. Or even focusing less on our needs and more on the needs of others also makes a big impact on someone’s life.

I’m probably not the most attentive of friends, truthfully. With four children and an online business, I find that my friends need to squeeze into the available cracks. However, I can say that I have some really amazing, patient friends, which makes me a very lucky person!

This is such a great way to start off a new week! It is so important for us to be there for our friends the same way we would want them to be there for us!

Such a wonderful reminder. We need to think outside of our personal bubble this time of year, and focus on others. There are always people in need, and tis the season to support them. Thanks for the great post!

This is such a wonderful idea, we all need the helping hand of a friend at times. Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to be there for someone who needed it and it felt so good. This is such a lovely reminder to share that feeling far and wide.

I feel very blessed to have a close circle of friends, we’ve been besties since we were teenagers! And I agree, a simple hello could change a person’s entire day.

This is definitely something we should all work on. Sometimes we don’t even know when friends are going through tough times so it’s good to always be there for support.

Friendship is definitely important. I really have a close knit of friends. But it is so hard to be the friend that I want to be when we moved half way around the world. Hopefully I can figure it out soon.

Yes true friends are thin on the ground. Especially when your in trouble in life the ones you think will be there for you sometimes run in the opposite direction.

I’m probably a below average friend. I see my friends about once a quarter. I just don’t have a lot of time for “friend stuff”, but I do like to catch up with them and spend quality time when it happens.

The other night, my husband and I were out to dinner and there was a table with about 6 older women. One of the ladies had to go outside because she left her light on and as soon as she got up, they started talking about her. I just laughed. It is so hard to find a good friend!

Great post about the importance of being a friend. I find it so rewarding to be a good friend and to lend an ear or hand to those that need it.

A true, genuine and good friend is hard to find, but once we have this kind of friend, treasure the person like our own heart. Being a good friend in good and bad time is important, but being a genuine friend in front and on the back is also as much as important.

I think that the most important thing is to have a friend in GOOD times and in HARD times!
The truth is to find one true friend to help you get through the tough times and the same situation in great times… when you’re happy, you’re feeling great and you’ve accomplished something really BIG in your life.
    Time tells the truth… Hugs!

That’s indeed a great idea. I always try to talk to people who want to so they can get some company for some time.

This is such a sweet thing to do for people. I’m very lucky to have friends who I can trust and it would be nice to be a friemd to people who needs a little help right now.
