DIY projects can go one of two ways, they can either be quick and painless or they can make you want to pull every strand of hair out. During the school year last year my daughter took a woodworking course, as a final exam she had to build a few different pieces in order to pass the class. If you read my post about the miniwax stain we used to stain a chair she built you know that it was our first time using a stain. Another piece my daughter had built was a wood toolbox that I decided to use as a planter box. Since the box was made with pine I wanted to stain it to add some character to it. To stain it we used the Minwax wood finishing cloths because of convenience and for the simple fact that it all can be done in one step.
The Minwax wood finishing cloths are a fast way to stain and finish wood using the pre-moistened cloths. All I had to do was wipe on the stain with the wipes and remove the excess stain with a clean cloth/rag. Let it dry for one hour and you’ve basically transformed a dull piece of wood into a piece with character. If you want a deeper tone all you have to do is apply another coat with another pre-moistened cloth, then toss it. No need to worry about the cleanup or spillage from stains in a can. Its quick, mess free and delivers great results.
Minwax Wood Finishing Cloths Before And After
I couldn’t believe how easy the process was, its the perfect way to stain for those who are new to doing DIY projects. Like I said before this is a new avenue for my hubby and I and it made us confident enough to do it again. The colour that we use was called Walnut, within the package a pair of gloves is enclosed which is a bonus because I would have totally forgotten to get a pair. Staining was a breeze wipe on and wipe off, we wanted a more rustic look so after the staining had dried we went in with sanding paper and gently sanded spots where we wanted a more distressed look.
It turned out incredible I would definitely recommend the Minwax wood finishing cloths for those looking for a quick DIY project to complete. There are many other shades to chose from along with other staining products that you can find online at Minwax.
