M∙A∙C ColourRocker Review and Swatches
I am always on board when it comes to a new lipstick, especially if its from a launch collection from M∙A∙C. On January 26th M∙A∙C launched their Colour Rocker collection in stores and online. This collection features 28 of the most rebellious shades of matte Lipsticks your average person would probably steer clear from. If you know me, you know that this collection is the perfect depiction of my character when it comes to wearing makeup. Its safe to say I instantly fell in love with this collection and I was super excited when a few of them arrived at my door step. I received 3 shades that I wanted to share with you today, shades that are perfect for my skin tone as well as deeper or medium to light tones as well.
As I said the finish is a matte finish but I did notice that they are not like the regular mattes that M∙A∙C has. When I applied them on my lips they were sort of similar to a whipped mousse texture. Which sadly made me realize that my lips were quite dry when I was swatching them. My intentions were to capture them on my lips but there was no way I could in the state that they were in at the time.
The 3 shades that I received for review were Gritty Girl light a cool brown , Feeling Fizzy a hot pink and In The Spirit a pure black. All 3 shades are very pigmented as you can tell they apply evenly and smoothly and have great lasting power. My favourite of the 3 shades would have to be Gritty Girl. When I look at all the shades offered in this vivid collection it is one of the more edgier collections that they have launched. Whether all shades are complimentary to my skin that part I am certain they will not be. I saw a few swatches on a more fair skin and I found that a few shades were a little on the chalky side. Overall I love this collection and I do want to pick up a few more shades to add to my overflowing lipstick collection.
What are some shades you would pick from this collection? Do you like to play it safe or do you dare to be bold? Let me know in the comments below!
Have a great weekend!
