Home Decor for the Holidays with Giant Tiger
By now you should be knees deep in the Christmas shopping frenzy. With only 2 weeks left, some of us still have no clue what to buy for our friends and family this holiday season. Normally for myself I keep a mental Christmas wish list in my head. However this year is not the case, between a busy work schedule, seasonal sicknesses, school functions just to name a few. I really didn’t think about what I wanted. Same goes for my hubby, normally there is one thing that he has been eyeing that he wants. Not this year!
This made it hard for both of us when we needed to shop for each other. So alternatively we decided not to buy gifts for one another, instead we would focus more on the sentimental aspects of the holiday season. Christmas holidays are very special to me as well as my family. I love the comfort and love that we feel during this busy season. There is nothing more relaxing than coming home, getting into my favourite onesie; grabbing a cup of coffee; and relaxing on the couch in my favourite spot.
With that being said the Christmas holidays is also one of my favourite seasons for decorating. I love all of the pieces you can put together to make it a festive time but still compliment your family’s taste. I recently went to Giant Tiger to do some holiday decor shopping and I picked up some really amazing pieces to add to my home. The best part is they didn’t cost much either. If I remember correctly I spent just under $100 and I was able to dress up my Coffee table and my special spot on the couch. I have mentioned on many occasions how much I fell in love with reindeer this year and I picked up two Winterscape cushions ($10 each) that I absolutely fell in love with. Along with that I also picked up a throw ($20) that feels so soft its perfect for those chilly nights by the fire; and the perfect mug to enjoy a cup. My husband always surprises me with flowers for no reason, other than to say I love you or when he knows hes gotten on my last nerve.
But Now we are in the colder months its really hard to find great blooms. I found the most beautiful Vase ($10) while shopping at Giant Tiger. If you don’t love the Gold foil look, I guarantee after laying your eyes on the vase I purchased, you will fall just as in love just as I did. After a few visits to a few different stores I managed to find some White Tulips which fit perfectly with my homes holiday decor. Although I would have much rather White Roses. My Reindeer Mug ($5) has been the hit in my home, everyone wants to drink out of it. I am really excited for the holiday season, to spend time with my family and enjoy all of the decor and holiday cheer around me. What are some of the ways you prepare for the holiday season?
